About this build.

First there was Mission Impossible, a Softail built by the award winning Custom division of the UK based Dealership Shaw Harley-Davidson and then came the Batbike The brief from the customer, “I would like a bike to represent Batman meets Bond”.

From a simple brief the team started the thought process and investigated which bike would be the best donor for the project. It needed to be “out there” in look one that demanded attention when on the road or stood stationary.

When looking for inspiration the Team took a lot of ideas from a previous build the Mission Impossible. The team looked at what could be done on different chassis and decided that the VROD Muscle was the perfect bike for the build. The bike had all the right attributes, low lines, power and mass.

Whilst parts were being CNC Machined in Germany the Shaw Speed & Custom team set about dismantling the new VROD Muscle. The bike was stripped down to every last nut and bolt, and the frame was engineered so that the rear shock absorbers were reposition to the underside of the frame similar to a softail for the beautiful new single sided swing swingarm. The front forks were also needed changing and a set of Marzocchi superbike forks with custom-made yokes were used. The brake rotors were replaced with larger versions, the brake calipers were also pumped up to six pot specials.

The rear 240mm wheel was replaced and a 300mm was added to keep the muscular look.Custom parts include a tailor made exhaust system, new front headers and carbon fibre rear sections. Other details include the replacement of the clutch cover and primary, front radiator cover and air box cover. This continues the dark look to the bike.

The centre console has unique dark Perspex speedo built into the tank creating a clean line that runs the length of the bike. The digital speedos display is bright red and ties in the red anodised extras.

On completion of the bike, the Shaw Team headed for the Euro festival and St Tropez as they were representing their customising wing of the Dealership, the Batbike took first place at the ride in Custom Show at Grimaud in the water cooled category along side their Sportster that took the winning prize in its class.

The bike can now be seen on the roads in Monaco, cruising around. A motorcycle that would has power and elegance in abundance.
