About this build.

The Rough Craft build became reality after the Speed & Custom side of Shaw Harley-Davidson became friends with Winston Yeh from Rough Craft.

Winston concentrates on Sportsters and producing cool products like the Diamond stitched solo seat, minimalist air breathers and billet headlight grilles. Steve Willis contacted Winston and asked if the Speed Shop could distribute his product for the UK and Europe market. Winston saw this as a great opportunity and the relationship was started.

With the Guerilla bike from Rough Craft being the inspiration the Team were very excited about build a UK version. The Team used an XL1200X 48 as the donor bike. This was the first time the team had used this bike for a build. It worked perfectly and now is bike that is regularly used by the Team.

After powder coating the Rough Craft risers, handlebars were fitted with integrated wiring and PM grips. The indicators were relocated fitted to the bar area. The original headlight has been modified to accommodate the grille which the bikes its signature front end. The speedo was also changed using a small Motogadget digital speedo that was housed in the top of the headlight.

The UK version of the Guerilla bike had slight changes with the rear fender being chopped so the Rough Craft double seat could be used for a pillion, giving the owner the choice and versatility. The Crime Scene Chopper rear lights were fitted to the shortened fender rails to give the bike good visibility from behind. The suspension was also lowered front and rear to give that low-slung compact look.

The interest for Rough Craft parts and styling has been incredible and it’s great to do a bike, which has been motivated by a designer thousands of miles away. This bike is another Sportster story that is showing how versatile the bikes are and just choosing one of two of the products from Rough Craft gives you that individual look.
