About this build.

The Slim Racing was built on a 2004 Harley-Davidson FXSTI Standard Softail, the bike had everything required by the team for the build. The team rebuilt the bike from the ground up, making sure that it every modification sat perfectly with the brief.

The bike had the works, the original 150mm rear wheel was replaced with the Performance Machine 240 section rear. The new chopped rear fender, seat and seat pan from Roland Sands Design adds to the shape of the bike.

The gas tank was taken from a Harley-Davidson XR, this was chosen because of its low profile look, which complements the lines of the bike. A new speedo was fitted, again from the XR, which measures the revs of the bike rather than mph.

The handlebars were replaced with master cylinders and switchgear, giving a low front-end look to the bike. The forks have been nitrate coated in gold to add to detailing. A beefier front tyre on the cool rims adds to the silhouette of the motorcycle.

The riding position was adjusted with the use of forward controls again from Performance Machine. The engine had additional work including modified engine covers. The primary cover on the left of the bike, normally oil filled, was replaced with an open primary system with belt drive.

There are many details taken into consideration when building a custom motorcycle and Shaw Speed likes to involve its customers from initial concept to completion of the customers one of a kind motorcycle. This is invaluable as the key to a great bike is that the Team fully understands the customer’s needs and aspirations.
