The Smithers is a great example of a sportster “Grande”, a standard 48 with a completely new look. Inspired by the past, the Team started modifying the front end to accommodate a Softail Fatboy front end.
The back end was chopped and a Shaw Speed & Custom rear fender fitted, this with the larger Softail gas tank gave the bike an unrecognisable new look to its origin as a 48.
A flat out red paint scheme was something the Speed Shop had wanted to do for some time and as you can see the result is excellent. The addition of cream to the paint job helps accentuate the already bulbous lines.
The custom built pipes, solo seat and chubby handlebars make this heavyweight sound as good as it rides.
The motor was also treated to some enhancements, the Screamin eagle heads and cams giving the grunt to match the bikes tough exterior.
